In August 1992, John Klingenberg opened the doors of Klingenberg Auto Repair (KAR). KAR began it’s existence as a single bay drive shed on Curries Road. Servicing mostly family/friends and local farm vehicles- KAR was in business! John built the business on the platform of Great customer service, and honest evaluations at fair rates. To this day- we operate under the same philosophy. John and Linda had a single hoist and the dream was underway!

KAR started out slowly, but via word of mouth, began expanding. Over the next few years, John and Linda kept their dream alive by grinding out long and challenging days. Keeping up with a changing industry was a challenge met with enthusiasm. John added more equipment and inventory, and was able to provide more services to his clients. KAR was building trust with its clients, and a relational business clients needed!

In March 2000, John and Linda moved the business to Eastwood(East of Woodstock), on highway 2. This allowed more space for John to add equipment-hoists, tire machines, etc.. John and Linda used half of a building which they renovated to meet the expanding needs of the business. An office in the front- and a 2 bay shop at the back was an opportunity for growth. Linda began working full time in the office taking calls and appointments. John hired his son, Jonathan(Jon), to help keep up with the demands of the business. Jon soon began apprenticing and with his son aiding in the repairs- John was able to get his sales person license, and began selling used vehicles on the lot. For 10 years- John dabbled with car sales, but emphasized the repair side of the business. Building confidence with the community, KAR became the preferred business of more people. Soon KAR took over the whole building, added an additional bay, alignment equipment, and a new renovated office. KAR added several apprentices through the years to help with the growing number of clients that became dependent on its services. When Jon became a licenced technician succession plans began for him to take over the business when John sr. would retire.

Jon’s wife Natalie, began bookkeeping and allowed Linda to transition away from the business.

In 2020, KAR moved the business to Woodall Way, in Woodstock. The move warranted a name change to Klingenberg Automotive. Klingenberg Automotive expanded the space adding more bays-necessary to meet the demand of new services. Clients followed, and fleet companies began taking advantage of the service provided. The demand mandated further staffing-including technicians and service advisors. In August 2022, Jon and Natalie officially took over the business. Klingenberg Automotive maintains the mission of being an Automotive Repair facility that provides an honest and fair service. We value our clients and continue to build trust with clients.
